Eilat - Israel's Southern Tip

There is a good reason why divers from all over the world come to Eilat. It's becasue the diving here is awesome. Eilat is the the most northern place on earth where corals can be found. There is a reef that is more than 1,200 meters long. Divers will discover hundreds of different species of of sea plants and marine life. There are more than 10 diving centers and over 20 diving sites most of which can be accessed from shore.

If you are a diver and want to see why diving in Eilat is famous worldwide, you must have a certificate, insurance, and documentation of when you last dived. If you are certified, you can join one of the daily guided dives at any one of the many dive sites here. If you are a more experienced diver - over 20 dives - you can rent equipment and dive on your own.

Here are the top four diving sites:

The Japanese Gardens near the marine observatory. The drop is more than 40 meters and divers will see lots of fish and corals. At the deepest point of this dive, about 50 meters, there is an abandoned ship. This site is accessible by boat.

The Satil Wreck. The depth here is 24 meters and if you do this dive, you will get to see an old missile ship that was sunk in 1994. The site is about 70 meters from shore.

The Caves Coast, which is about 500 meters north of the Egyptian border.This magnificent reef is shallow - only about 5 meters - and is teeming with hundreds of sweeper fish.

The Dolphin Reef. Have you ever dived with dolphins? This secure area is for anyone who wants the experience, provided they take the course and are over 12. Access is right off the beach and the conditions are almost always excellent. Most of the dolphins were born in the reef and are used to swimming with people.
