Haifa is the third largest city in Israel, but can be considered the first in beauty, with its combination of Mount Carmel bordering the Mediterranean Sea, it is a spectacular sight every day of the year. Carmel is sacred and therefore believers all over the world donate a great deal of money to maintain the holy site. At the top of the mountain on Yefe Nof Street, you enter the Baha'i Gardens. Guided tours are given exclusively by official Baha'i guides and you can not walk around the gardens on your own. A tour of the gardens is highly recommended, as the view is magnificent from the top of Mt. Carmel.
Then drive down the mountain to the German Colony to Ben Gurion Blvd. and from there you can see the entire mountain from top to bottom. A few minutes' further drive to Tchernichovsky Street will take you to Stella Maris (the star of the sea). Park the car in the parking lot and walk to the lookout point from where you can see the sea to the south. There is a cable car that takes you down the mountain in three minutes straight to the seaside promenade. You can stroll along the promenade and then return to the top of the mountain by cable car to Stella Maris and then to your car.
The Madatech museum is worth a visit for lovers of science. It is a national museum of science, technology and space research. It is located at the corner of 25 Shmarayahu Levin Street and 12 Balfour Road. there are many interactive exhibits, games and experiments for visitors of all ages. Haifa has two sea ports: Kishon Port in the north and in the south, Haifa Port, which is the largest port in Israel. From Kishon Port you can take a one hour boat ride around Haifa Bay. This is highly recommended but you should book in advance.
