Rabbi Shimon ben Elazar was a fifth generation Tana and a leading student of Rabbi Meir. He is only mentioned a few times in the Mishna but numerous times in the Tosefta, Brisos and Talmud.

Kever Rabbi Shimon ben Elazar Rabbi Shimon ben Elazar is buried in ancient Shazur which is now called Sajur, a village currently occupied by Druzim and Arabs. He is buried right near Rabbi Shimon Shizuri and in the vicinity of Rabbi Yishmoel Kohen Gadol.;
