Hof Habonim Beach | Explore Israel

Come see one of the most beautiful shorelines in Israel. Hof Habonim is a nature reserve and beach and has clear water inlets, sand cliffs, caves and incredible vegetation and wildlife. There are two well marked nature trails that are good for families. One trail is two kilometers and other is four and a half kilometers. When you get to the ridge you will have a great view of the Carmel region. The kids will love hunting for cool sea shells on the beach.

Further along the reserve is the famous “Blue Cave” which was formed over centuries by erosion. You can take the same path back to your car or continue through a small sandy cove to the top of the ridge. From there you can see ruins of a shipwreck. After that continue on 150 meters to where the trail splits in two. Go north (left) following the green markers for about a kilometer to get back to the parking lot.

If you are planning to spend a day at Hof Habonim definitely stick around till sunset. Because it’s amazing. You can even camp overnight here.

שמורת חוף דור - הבונים היא אחת מרצועות החוף המובחרות לטיול מענג עם מים צלולים, צוקי כורכר קטנים, מערות חוף, המון "צדפים" במגוון גדלים ומינים וגם ספינה טבועה. מהחניון יוצא מסלול המסומן בצבע אדום העולה בראשיתו אל רכס הכורכר על הגבעה תצפית נהדרת על אזור הכרמל, מעברו המערבי של הרכס "מפרץ הצדפים" - מפרץ יפיפה עם שכבה עבה של צדפים. בהמשך השביל נגיע ל"מערה הכחולה" - המערה נוצרה במשך שנים ע"י הים בתהליכים של כרסום, המסה והתמוטטות. מקור שמה בגוונים הכחולים הנביטים מתוכה כשהים שקט כדאי לרדת פנימה לשבת באחת מפינותיה המוצלות ולהביט במים הצלולים המכים בה. מכאן ניתן לחזור באותו דרך לרכב או להמשיך עם השביל עד שהוא עוקף מפרץ חולי קטן ומעפיל אל נקודת תצפית שבראש רכב הכורכר. מכאן תראו שרידים של ספינה שעלתה כאן על שרטון וטבעה. פונים עם השביל מזרחה ולאחר כ150 מטר מגיעים אל פיצול שבילים, כאן אתם פונים צפונה [שמאלה] עם הסימון הירוק וחוזרים לחניה [כקילומטר הליכה].
